Assessment Appeals Boards I, II and III
The Boards conduct value hearings to equalize the valuation of the taxable property in the County for the purposes of taxation in the manner provided for in Section 16 of Article XIII of the Constitution of the State of California. Special meetings are scheduled as necessary.
Hearings are held on the first, second, and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 9:00 a.m. in Room 157, County Government Center, 70 West Hedding St., San Jose.
Assessment Appeals Legal Hearing Officers
The Assessment Appeals Legal Hearing Officers conduct hearings on assessment protests on the sole issue of whether a change of ownership or new construction has occurred with regard to real property in the County so as to cause a reassessment of said property for ad valorem property tax purposes.
Hearings are held on the third Wednesday (odd months) at 9:00 a.m. in Room 157, County Government Center, 70 West Hedding St., San Jose.
Assessment Appeals Valuation Hearing Officers
The Assessment Appeals Valuation Hearing Officers conduct hearings on assessment protests on single family residences, cooperatives, condominium, or multiple-family dwellings of four units or less; or property valued at less than $500,000.
