Tax Clearance Certificates
The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors furnishes a signed and sealed Certificate of Tax Clearance, required by the Clerk Recorder when recording a parcel map subdivision, to requestors when sufficient security is submitted, along with any other required documents as mandated by the State of California, per Government Code Section 66492-66494.1.
Tax Clearance Certificate Requirements
- Tax Clearance Letter (obtained from the Office of the Tax Collector, 408-808-7900)
- Recording of Maps information document obtained from the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, or downloaded here:
- Security required, detailed on the Tax Collector's Letter. Various forms of security are acceptable, including:
- Cashier's Check
- Tax Bond
- Certificate of Deposit
